About the Internship


The Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) is offering an enriching internship opportunity. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in supporting the Centre’s substantive work programme, which focuses on developing and promoting regional mechanisms and platforms for the transfer of technologies, including climate technologies, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and climate-resilient infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities

Interns will collaborate with APCTT staff to support various projects and initiatives. The tasks may include:


  • Regional Cooperation and Technology Transfer:

    • Assisting in developing regional mechanisms for technology transfer.
    • Promoting new and emerging technologies.
  • Event Organization:

    • Organizing knowledge-sharing and capacity-building events.
    • Coordinating with policymakers, experts, and research institutions.
  • Analytical Support:

    • Conducting research and analysis to support ESCAP member States in areas such as climate change, environment, innovation, and sustainable development.
    • Assisting in environmental journalism and international relations related to science and technology.
  • Communication and Knowledge Management:

    • Creating communication products and engaging social media content.
    • Enhancing the technology database on the APCTT website.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Providing administrative and organizational support for APCTT events.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Enrollment in, or completion of, a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher) in relevant fields such as Climate Change, Environment, Innovation, Sustainable Development, Environmental Journalism, International Relations related to science and technology, or related areas.
  • Enrollment in, or completion of, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).


Language Requirements

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).
