The Commission offer internships in various areas to Students to help them with research, field visits, data analysis, preparing policy summaries, drafting letters and notices, recording meeting minutes, and supporting documentation and social media tasks and the Full-time interns also receive stipend.

 

About DCPCR

The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) was established under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005, and is the official body in Delhi responsible for children’s welfare and the Commission focuses on several key areas of child rights:

a) Implementing legal protections for children involved in offenses and ensuring necessary safeguards.

b)    Upholding and promoting children's right to play and ensuring every child's right to education.

c)     Preventing children from exploitation, abuse, child labour, trafficking, and violence.

d)    Protecting children from sexual offences and Preventing child marriages.

e) Promoting child health, including primary healthcare, maternal and infant care, access to nutritious food, immunization, and fighting malnutrition.

f)  Safeguarding the rights of children with special needs and Preventing children from substance abuse.

 

About the Internship

Eligibility

a)     Currently studying for a Bachelor's degree or diploma.

b)    Finished a Bachelor's degree.

c)     Currently pursuing a Master's degree or diploma.

d)    Completed a Master's degree or higher qualification.

 

Last date to Apply

No last date and applications are processed on rolling basis.

 

Stipend

Interns receive Rs. 3000/- along with reimbursement for official travel expenses, as per the policy which is updated periodically.

 

Whom to Report

Interns will be under the overall supervision of Consultants/Senior Consultants at DCPCR. However, their daily oversight will be managed by the Superintendents of the Children Homes.

 

Internships across three divisions:

1)    Fundamental Literacy and Numeracy at Child Care Institute Projects

About Project - In Delhi, there are over 100 Child Care Institutions (CCIs), operated by both the government and NGOs, housing approximately 5000-6000 children and many of these children have been rescued from challenging situations like abandonment, orphanhood, child labor, early marriage, trafficking, sexual violence, parental incarceration, disability, and severe bullying and a significant obstacle to their rehabilitation and integration is the lack of basic skills, to address this issue, the DCPCR, in collaboration with bodies such as the Child Welfare Committee and the Department of Women & Child Development, is initiating the Foundational Skills Program in these Children Homes.

 

Key Responsibilities

a)     Help the Commission develop and manage baseline, endline, and periodic assessments and analyze data to support daily operations and important decision-making.

b)    Support teachers in implementing the foundational skills program at designated Children Homes and Conduct field visits, document project progress, and note observations, challenges, and successes.

c)     Aid Commission in organizing training sessions and setting up monitoring systems, and any other task as may be assigned by the Commission.

 

Necessary Requisites

a)   Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and dedication to public service, with strong ethical standards and integrity.

b)    Basic proficiency in English, including writing and reading skills and access to a computer or laptop and willingness to commit a minimum of 5 weeks.

c)  Declaration that the applicant has not been charged or acquitted in cases related to gender, sexual, children’s rights, or human rights violations by their organization, investigative agencies, or courts.

 

Desirable Requisites

a) Experience in education, teaching, or counseling either through academic study or professional background.

b)    previous involvement in public service through volunteering or employment.

 

2)    Social Media/Digital Marketing Internship

About Internship - Initiatives are shared regularly with the public to keep them informed and they are seeking a social media manager with graphic design and content writing abilities to help us establish a compelling social media presence that amplifies our influence, this internship offers a rewarding and challenging opportunity, with a minimum duration of 2 months that can be extended based on mutual agreement and performance.

Requisites for Digital Marketing - Strategize and implement digital marketing across social media, emails, and online campaigns and ensure a robust and appropriate social media presence and generate innovative strategies to engage the general public and key stakeholders effectively and promote content across various social media platforms.

Graphic Designing Requisites - Developing graphics and creative visuals as per team needs and Design images and layouts for posters and videos and test graphics on different platforms and media.

Content Writing Requisites - Craft captions and short content tailored for social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, proofread and edit posts prior to publishing, perform basic keyword research and apply SEO principles to enhance website traffic and maintain uniformity across all publications, including writing style, fonts, images, and tone.

 

Key Responsibilities:

a.  Research proficiency to grasp the context of DCPCR's initiatives and background in Design, Marketing, or Communications.

b.   Proficiency in Graphic Design tools like Photoshop, Coral, Illustrator, Canva, Figma, etc., and Strong writing abilities in English and Hindi.

c. Creativity in developing impactful social media campaigns that engage, inform, and inspire action and the familiarity with social media analytics tools is advantageous but not required.

 

3)    Internship for DCPCR Journal

About the Journal - The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) is establishing a new journal titled "Children First: Journal on Children's Lives." This journal aims to enrich discussions and discourse on children's issues through an inclusive, multidisciplinary approach and it will feature original academic research, examples of good practices, voices from the field, reflections, commentaries, critiques, policy analyses, and book reviews.

 

Key Responsibilities:

a)     Strong creativity in developing impactful social media campaigns to promote the Journal and ability to conduct research to comprehend the context of DCPCR's activities.

b)    Fundamental proficiency in English for reading and writing and competence in using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

c)     Skills in digitizing the Journal and capability to proofread and edit documents.

 

Remote/Part Time Internship

The Commission offers remote part-time internships for individuals who prefer to work from home and these interns primarily conduct research under their reporting manager and assist with other assigned tasks by the Commission, but Part-time interns are not entitled to receive any stipend.
