NFSU and Haryana Government Partner to Establish a Cutting-Edge Crime Investigation Center in Panchkula 

An agreement was formalised today between the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and the Haryana Government to set up a state-of-the-art Center of Excellence focused on forensic investigations of identified crime cases in Panchkula, Haryana.


This landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of dignitaries, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Urban Development, Housing, and Energy Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Naib Singh, alongside Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta, were present for the signing ceremony. 

  

Establishing a Leading Center of Excellence:-

Plans include the development of a sprawling 50-acre campus in Panchkula, marking it as the first such facility in the state dedicated to advanced forensic research and investigation. Currently, Haryana hosts four operational forensic laboratories, underscoring its commitment to enhancing crime detection capabilities.

Enhancing Forensic Capabilities:-

Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the pivotal role of the upcoming centre in bolstering law enforcement efforts under the newly enacted criminal legislation. Emphasizing the practical application of scientific methodologies, Shah proposed the establishment of a specialized training institute within the centre. This institute aims to equip students and law enforcement officers from Haryana and neighbouring states with essential skills tailored to contemporary forensic practices.

Chief Minister Naib Singh expressed confidence in the centre's potential to streamline evidence-gathering processes in targeted criminal investigations.
