WORK AS INTERN IN M.P.S.J.A. (Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy)

 

The Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy (M.P.S.J.A.) in Jabalpur is offering part-time, non-residential internships for students pursuing LL.B and LL.M degrees. This program aims to involve interns in various activities such as research, writing, and assisting in conferences and seminars. Interns will be associated with specific research projects and will provide necessary research assistance.

Objectives

1. Exposure to Judicial Issues: Provide students with the opportunity to engage with the judiciary's contemporary issues and interact with leaders in various legal fields.
2. Support for Research and Publications: Assist the Academy in its research and publication activities.

Eligibility

For LL.B Students:

1. Enrollment in a 5-year or 3-year LL.B program at a recognized institution.
2. A strong academic and co-curricular record.
3. Proficiency in computer skills relevant to the work, such as online research and MS Office applications.
4. Preference is given to 4th and 5th-year students, with 1st-year students being ineligible.

For LL.M Students:

1. Enrollment in a regular LL.M program at a recognized institution.
2. A strong academic and co-curricular record.
3. Proficiency in computer skills relevant to the work, such as online research and MS Office applications.

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted through the applicant's College/University/Law School with a bona fide recommendation. Applications should be received by the 5th of the month preceding the proposed internship month.

Required Documents:

1. A forwarding letter and No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Head of Department, Dean, Principal, Director, or Registrar.
2. A completed application form with contact details, expression of interest, and proposed duration of the internship.

A PDF of the application form, forwarding letter, and NOC should be emailed to MPSJA with the subject "Application for Internship". Originals must be presented upon reporting to the Academy.

Duration and Timings

• LL.B Internships: Minimum duration of 3 weeks.
• LL.M Internships: Duration of 4 weeks.
• Interns must be present during normal office hours and may be required to stay beyond these hours if necessary.

Number of Interns

The number of interns varies based on the Academy’s needs, with a maximum of 10 interns at any given time.

Leave Policy

Interns are not eligible for leave during the internship, except in cases of compelling necessity. Any period of absence will be excluded from the internship duration.

Internship Activities

Interns will engage in the following activities:

1. Study the pattern of continuous judicial education at the Academy.
2. Assist officers with research work, including law searches.
3. Assist in preparing drafts for in-house publications.
4. Conduct independent research and project assistance.

Selection Procedure

The Director of MPSJA will select interns based on merit and application priority. The decision of the Director is final. Selected candidates will be informed via email.

Accommodation and Remuneration

No lodging or boarding is provided. The Academy will not offer any remuneration or stipend. Interns must bear personal expenses. The Academy will provide necessary stationery and consumables for specific projects.

Facilities for Interns

Interns will have access to:

1. The library, including the e-library.
2. Research papers and reading materials published by the Academy.
3. Workspace with a computer system and printing facilities.
4. All other necessary facilities for the successful completion of the internship.

Internship Program In-Charge

The Director of MPSJA will appoint an in-charge for the internship program from among the judicial officers at MPSJA. This individual will be the single-point contact for all internship-related queries and clarifications. Interns must follow the directions of the in-charge during their internship.

Certification

Upon completing the internship, interns will receive a certificate from the Academy.
