7 UPPCS-J Selected Students Will Be Removed: You must know about this whole issue.

The Chief of the Public Service Commission filed an affidavit in the High Court on Monday regarding the discrepancies found in 50 answer booklets of the PCJS Main Examination 2022. The affidavit included a sealed report presented to the court by the commission.

Arguments Presented by Senior Advocates

Representing the Public Service Commission, senior advocate informed the court that after modifications in the answer booklets, the merit list would exclude seven previously selected candidates, while six new candidates would be included for interviews. Meanwhile, senior advocate SFA Nakvi, representing Sravan Pandey, raised concerns over discrepancies in the Hindi answer booklet. Nakvi also submitted an affidavit. The court directed the commission to submit a supplementary affidavit.

Last Minute Legal Strategy

Sravan Pandey changed her lawyer a day before the hearing. Senior advocate SFA Nakvi, present on behalf of Yachika, substituted advocate Vibhu Rai on Monday. Nakvi suggested that the case should be treated as a public interest litigation or taken up by the court suo motu, given the significant impact on a large number of affected candidates.

High Court's Directive for Reports

The Allahabad High Court had previously requested a detailed report from the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission regarding the candidates affected by the revisions in the results of the PCJS Main Examination 2022. The court sought clarification on the changes in scores post-revision and requested comprehensive details on candidates ineligible for interview after the revision, along with the scores received before and after the revision. Additionally, the court asked for a complete account of any discrepancies found in all six question papers.

Commission's Response and Action

In light of the situation concerning Sravan Pandey's case, the commission decided to show answer sheets to all 3019 candidates who participated in the PCJS Mains Examination 2022. The commission specified that answer sheets could be viewed between June 20 and July 30 during working hours. Candidates interested in viewing their sheets were required to submit a petition to the commission and present valid identification documents along with their admission cards for entry into the premises.
