About Territorial Army

The Territorial Army (TA) is a reserve force comprising part-time volunteers who offer support to the Indian Army. Its ranks include officers, junior commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers, and other personnel, mirroring those of the Indian Army. Members typically maintain civilian careers alongside their military service. The main responsibilities of the TA include relieving the regular army of stationary tasks, aiding civil authorities during disasters, ensuring essential services are upheld, and providing units to the regular army as necessary.
