In a landmark decision, the Allahabad High Court has delivered a judgment in three languages—English, Hindi, and Sanskrit—pertaining to a case involving the enforceability of an interim maintenance order issued by a family court under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
The High Court ruled against the petition. "This judgment is being drafted in Hindi and Sanskrit along with English, and copies in all three languages will be included with this verdict," stated the court.
Azad Khan, the lawyer representing the petitioners, expressed, "In my 32 years of legal practice, this is the first instance where I've witnessed a judgment presented in three languages. It's notable that the judgment has seamlessly integrated all three languages into a unified document."
This decision by the Allahabad High Court signifies a significant step towards inclusivity and accessibility in legal proceedings, accommodating diverse linguistic preferences in the judicial system.
