India at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Day 4 Highlights






On the fourth day of the Paris 2024 Olympics, shooter Manu Bhaker achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first athlete from independent India to win multiple medals at a single Olympics. The 22-year-old, alongside Sarabjot Singh, secured a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle event, marking India's first shooting team event medal at the Summer Games.

In men's hockey, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh led the team to a 2-0 victory over Ireland in the Pool B match, securing a spot in the quarter-finals with his two goals.

In badminton, the world No. 3 pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, continued their strong performance by winning their second match and advancing to the quarter-finals as group winners. Conversely, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa concluded their women’s doubles campaign with a third consecutive defeat.

In archery, Bhajan Kaur advanced to the women’s pre-quarterfinals with back-to-back victories, while Dhiraj Bommadevara was eliminated in the round of 32 after a shoot-off. Ankita Bhakat exited in the opening round.

Boxers Amit Panghal (men’s 51kg) and Jasmine Lamboria (women’s 57kg) faced early exits after disappointing performances in their opening bouts, with Preeti Pawar (women’s 54kg) also being knocked out.
