In men's hockey, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh led the
team to a 2-0 victory over Ireland in the Pool B match, securing a spot in
the quarter-finals with his two goals.
In badminton, the world No. 3 pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy
and Chirag Shetty, continued their strong performance by winning
their second match and advancing to the quarter-finals as group winners. Conversely,
Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa concluded their women’s doubles campaign
with a third consecutive defeat.
In archery, Bhajan Kaur advanced to the women’s pre-quarterfinals
with back-to-back victories, while Dhiraj Bommadevara was eliminated in the
round of 32 after a shoot-off. Ankita Bhakat exited in the opening
round.
Boxers Amit Panghal (men’s 51kg) and Jasmine
Lamboria (women’s 57kg) faced early exits after disappointing performances in their opening
