About National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)
An embodiment of India’s concern for the promotion and
protection of human rights NHRC was established on 12 October, 1993. Under the
statute that is the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA), 1993.
It defines Human Rights as the rights relating to
life, liberty, equality and dignity of the individual guaranteed by the
Constitution or embodied in the International Covenants and enforceable by
courts in India.
About
Internship
A two week
"Online Short Term Internship Programme August, 2024 from (5th August to
16 August, 2024).
Who is
Eligible
1. Maximum
age limit of student to apply for internship is 28 years computed as on
01.07.2024
2. Students
must have consistently attained a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII and all
subsequent years in attended degree or diploma courses, including the presently
pursued courses. The calculated percentage has to be mentioned clearly from
their CGPA/SGPA along with the formula for percentage obtained. Failure to do
either of it, would result in rejection of application form.
3. Applications
are invited from eligible students of the entire country. Eligibility and
selection criteria will be as follows:
a. Students studying in 3rd year and onwards of any
integrated 5 year PG Course
b. Students studying in 3rd / final year of a
graduation course
c. Students of any semester/ year of any post-graduate
degree course (also applicable to the students in three year LL.B programme).
d. Students of any semester/ year of any post-graduate
diploma course
e. Students who are research scholars in any stream.
Who is not
Eligible
If earlier you have done any internship with NHRC,
then you are not eligible to do this internship.

Mode of Internship
Online Mode
Stipend
a)
All
the student interns on successful completion of the internship would receive a
stipend of Rs. 2000/-.
b)
Certificate
of participation will be awarded to the candidates on the basis of their
punctuality, discipline, participation in online sessions: timely submission of
Group Project Presentation & Project Reports, and, Book Reviews.
c)
It
is mandatory for interns to attend all the sessions of the internship. Any
application of leave will not be entertained.
