The 22nd India and Russia bilateral
summit in Moscow held on July 8-9,2024 involved significant discussions
between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin on
various issues and strategic developments, one such issue on which PM MODI raised
concern was about Indians working in the Russian army.
Russia will discharge and facilitate the return of
all Indians working in its army amid the Ukraine War. During their meeting in Moscow, PM
Narendra Modi raised the issue with Russian President Vladimir
Putin.
India had earlier asked Russia to stop recruiting
Indians for the war, at least two Indians were killed in the war.

A man from Punjab who had gone to Russia as a tourist
and was forced to fight war against Ukraine said he was waiting for his
release after PM Modi talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“After PM Modi’s visit we were told they are ready
to release us” he said.
