The Haryana Judicial Services Examination is a prestigious and highly competitive process for selecting judicial officers in the country. Officially known as the “Haryana Civil Service Judicial Examination” or HCS (Judicial), this exam is administered by the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. It is conducted in accordance with the Punjab Civil Services (Judicial Branch) Rules of 1951, under the authority of the Haryana Public Service Commission.
Successful candidates are appointed to the lower judiciary as Civil Judge (Junior Division) or Judicial Magistrate. Their responsibilities include adjudicating cases and managing various administrative functions essential for the smooth operation of the judicial system.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Nationality
– Must be an Indian citizen, or
– Citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or
– Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, or
– A person of Indian origin who migrated from specific countries and holds a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit
– Minimum: 21 years
– Maximum: 42 years (as of January 31, 2024)
– Age relaxation for various categories and disabilities.

– Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university approved by the Bar Council of India
